Frankfurt / Shanghai electro techno music

Since an especially early radio mixtaper age, tootekool has experienced his days under the influence of the medium of music. From his background of PAUSE and REC to the sounds of a booming 1990 Frankfurt (Germany) electronic scene, his strolls between the legendary venues of ‘OMEN’ and ‘BOX’ began his learnings of an electronic house and techno sound.
With this prompt in the mixing direction, little did he know he would find himself performing alongside the frontrunners of Sven Vaeth (Cocoon Club) and DJ T (Get Physical Records), residents of those venues, later in his own DJ life…

And now, having held and holding residencies, done and doing the rounds of Europe and Asia, as well as having worn the hat of a Club Manager, tootekool’s current act of DJ & Event Organiser leads the drive of a burgeoning sound in his now local Shanghai. Here, tootekool heads a thriving ‘micro’ event series where in House and Techno he pulls the likes of Tom Clark and Mathias Schaffhaueser to this side of the sea. All while stirring the merging of acoustic with his electronic at Shanghai’s ‘FREAKLUB’ weeklies, where acoustic instrumentalists connect with the digital sound.
